I have 3 ways to obtaining free website traffic. The first thing I want to do is to social bookmark all my articles. Now I’m going to take the RSS feed and submit that to different directories. After I get this step done I write articles and post them to various blogging networks and article directories. The last step I’ll do is find higher ranking PR sites and get links from that site going back to mine.

Here are some things I learned from these Podcast Interviews. Sometimes buying links from these higher PR ranking websites is the best route to go. I’ve found that some will do swamping of services. Make a good impression when you first contact them and you just might get the link for free.

You want to always be marketing your website through off page optimization. Come up with a consistent plan and stick to it. Go to your keyword list and do some testing to see which keywords you should be using. Pay-per-click is a get way to test out to see if you can get traffic with the keywords you picked. Now create some content and submit those articles to the directories. Write your goals down on a piece of paper and stick to them.

For the long tailed keywords that have a much lower competition, you should be able to get away with just using social bookmarking along with one or two article submissions. This process will help you from doing any of the linking manually.

This is a very solid strategy. Obviously there are quite a few different steps for someone to do if they are first starting out. When you’re first starting out do all of these steps for yourself first without outsourcing. This way you have a good understanding of how each step works. If something goes wrong in the process of you trying to get your website traffic at least you’ll know what you are looking for and how to solve the problem. You need to have a good understanding of how things work before you outsource.

Now once you have a good understanding of how this promotion works, you can find someone to outsource this stuff to. Good quality link building is very hard to outsource for, because there is no gray in the link building process. When you link build, you are either going to get it done right or wrong. If you have someone doing your link building and they make a comment on a blog or get the anchor text wrong that link will be of no value to you. Start off these jobs on a small basis first. This way you can see how someone is working for you before you make an investment in that person.

I find that much of my little things can be outsourced to someone else, but the link building, I’ve never found anyone to do it the way I want it done. This is why I social bookmark and write articles. There are a few automatic services that I do use. If you keep up a good routine, you’ll have a good outcome with obtaining free website traffic.

Go out and get website traffic. That sounds easy, but at times you need to come up with a plan to get you from point A to B. Start out with a good keyword list and go for the lower hanging fruit first. Build up some thrust with those keywords first. Try and rank for the top position with each term to see how well you do. Now go out and find directories to submit some content to.

In the SEO basics, I take a good look at your competition. What are they doing? What kind of websites are they linking from? What is the page rank of those pages? Find out everything you can about them and do exactly the same thing. For the higher ranking PR sites, you might find yourself buying links. Many people swap services and links. But you’re never going to find out if you don’t ask.

Lots of people use other websites to boost their business online. You can do the same thing too. Just because you see your competition doing something and if you do the same thing doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll out rank them. It usually comes down to how many links your competition has. Find out what they have and go get more.

Writing articles and submitting them to directories is my passion. I’ll typically choose a few to work with because I don’t want my article just to sit their collecting dust. Depending on how the page rank is, will determine if I use that directory or not. I want web masters to put it on their site or in their newsletters.

The best thing that you can do to get website traffic is to build up a relationship between you and other people. You can get the word out by putting up a blog and getting them to sign up for an eZine that you can do.

The search engines I think look at niches differently. Let’s say for example, you sell evening gowns and you wanted to do an article for a pageant magazine. You’re not really competing with them so this person is more likely to publish content on their website for you for free.

Go to websites and asked them if you can put an article about something. Web masters love new content. You can get a link from that website going to yours. It’s really not that hard to do. Visitors love new and fresh content especially if it is written well.

Sometimes you can even get paid to write articles for someone. Many times if you go this route, you can only use that article for that website, but that’s ok. You can always go out and write more. You just have to think of different ways to be creative when you get website traffic.

There is one thing that hasn’t changed in the history of getting targeted traffic.  What is it?  You need it!

But should you buy targeted traffic or just keep trying to get it for free?  There are tons of potential targeted visitors searching the web every day.  How do you get them to your site?

Warning: It’s not easy.  You could spend a lot before you learn how to get the power results.

It is true, that properly presented PPC promotions have the highest sales conversions.  If you did you ad generation well, and properly researched your niche keywords, your investment can be low, and your return can be very high.  It will leave you very satisfied unlike the cheap traffic mentioned earlier.
