7 Simple Steps to Increase Website Traffic in 48 Hours Or Less Using Article Marketing

You are most likely losing thousands of targeted visitors to your site if you are not doing two things -

1) Targeting your audience and

2) Applying some basic concepts about article marketing.

This is the one traffic method that I've been using for years that's proven to be effective. Article marketing is the only way I started seeing a significant number of traffic and in turn, a significant number of sales, but only if I applied the seven basic concepts below.

1. Write an Article that Would Benefit Your Reader

If you have a product or service, how would you market it to the person looking to purchase it? Most people would think that listing benefits is the best approach, but really, you can skip all of the benefits of the product and go straight to answering one question - how does the product or service solve your potential customer's problem? If you start by answering this one question, you will shape your article around what your reader really wants to know.

2. Make Sure Your Title Peaks Your Reader's Curiosity

The simple formula of writing your article's title involves answering the following questions and turning it into a title: What problem will the product or service solve? How much time is involved in solving the problem? What will the result be when the problem is solved?

3. Make Your Article Interesting and Engaging

There are conventional ways to write an article, but if you're doing it online, the best way is to write the article as if the person was right in front of you. Your article becomes more engaging and they are more likely to read the article in its entirety because they feel like you are talking to them personally.

4. Tell Your Reader Exactly What They Need to Do Next

You've captured their attention enough to keep them reading until the very end of your article. Now what? When your article is published and used by other people, a fair exchange is that they include a few lines describing the author often times called an "Author Information Box". This is a good chance to place a link to a site where interested readers can go to and access other materials that they would most likely be interested in.

5. Get Your Prospect's Information - Lead Capturing

This is the second part of number four. The link that you point your reader to should be relevant to the article itself. Give them something away for free in exchange for their information. What you give away should be of value to them and benefit them in some way. If they have gotten this far into the process, and you don't have a way to keep communicating with them, you have just thrown away one prospect. So make sure you have a way to continue communicating with them by capturing their information with a lead capture page. Don't rely on someone bookmarking your site to come back to it later.

6. Reach a Massive Audience by Distributing Your Article

In order for readers to even find your article, you will need to distribute it to the right places. There are many article directories, but there's also another way that you can increase your chances of having an even more targeted audience by submitting to ezines or newsletters that have readers who are interested in exactly the subject matter that you may be writing about. Instead of shooting your article blindly to directories where there are thousands of categories, the better method is to submit your article to a newsletter that already has thousands of people interested in what you write about.

7. Follow Up with Your Prospects

After doing all of the hard work, make sure you keep in contact with your prospect. Make your follow-up emails personal and you reader will read every word of your email. If your reader benefits every time they read your email, they will definitely look forward to, open and read every email that you send to their inbox.
