Should You Buy Expired Targeted Traffic?

It has been my experience with traffic generation that the only traffic you can trust is website traffic that you have generated yourself. Having said that, there are many people who believe that buying expired targeted traffic, such as traffic from expired domains is a great method of generation. I would have to disagree, and here are the three reasons why:

1. Expired targeted traffic may not be that targeted after all. While on the surface this seems to not make a whole lot of sense, many people who offer expired targeted traffic do not realize some of the differences between niches. For example, If you were selling plasma TV’s, would you want to buy traffic that is sending someone to a store to buy DVDs? This is just one example, but many times these expired traffic retailers have broad categories that will not get you the laser targeted traffic that you desire.

2. The prices are usually to good to be true. You know the old saying, if its too good to be true it probably is. This is my opinion when dealing with buying expired targeted traffic. It seems that getting 10,000 visitors of 10 dollars would be great deal, but when you are not getting the targeted visitors you are looking for, then it really does not matter how much traffic you are getting.

3. The main reason I do not like expired targeted traffic is that it is not what you generate yourself. I think the most solid forms of traffic generation are the ones you do yourself. Whether it is article marketing, or search engine optimization, or classified ads, you need traffic that you create for yourself that is tailored specifically for your website content.

Bottom line here is, you should stay away from buying expired targeted traffic unless you know exactly where it comes from.
